Ken Smith, Executive Director

Ken Smith has served as the Executive Director of YBB since 1997. He was a co-founder of Roxbury YouthWorks, Teens as Community Resources, and YBB itself. He has extensive experience with the juvenile justice system and has been a chair of Citizens for Juvenile Justice. He has more than 20 years experience in a leadership role at various non-profit youth services organizations.

Joseph Diaz, Construction Manager

Joseph Diaz has been working in the construction field for the last 37 years, and 17 of those years have been with YBB. Since his arrival in 1994 he has helped train hundreds of Youthbuild Boston students, leading them through dozens of community service projects. Under his instruction, YBB's young people have developed approximately 35 units of housing and 50,000 square feet of commercial space.

Greg D. Mumford, Deputy Director

Greg Mumford has been with YBB since 1996. A Boston native, he was recently awarded the City of Boston's Michael Griffin Humanitarian Award for his contribution to the youth of Boston. He came to YBB from My Turn, Inc. in Brockton, MA, where he was a career specialist. Says Mumford about his work at YBB, "For most of my life, I have been working with young people and young adults. Working for YBB puts me in great position to continue doing so. I love to watch young people grow and take charge of their lives. This is what motivates me to keep working here."

Tina Petigny - Associate Director

Tina Petigny oversees the Development Department at YBB. This includes all fundraising, special events, and external communications. Prior to coming to YBB, Tina worked for Boston Connects, a nonprofit that implemented federal funding for economic and community development projects in Boston’s most underserved neighborhoods.

Dan Seibert - Director of Finance and Administration

Dan Seibert has worked in non-profit and government finance for over thirty years. Previously a Director of Employment and Training programs in New Hampshire, Dan has now been with YBB for five years. He enjoys the day to day challenges of helping young people as they progress through the program and become successful graduates and ambassadors  of YBB.
