Greening urban landscapes

At YouthBuild Boston, students are engaged in hands-on training and service projects that transform neglected urban areas into attractive, healthy landscapes. Students learn about sustainable landscaping practices and the importance of environmental stewardship — all while preparing for careers in the green industry. Many students participate in internships with local parks and conservation organizations, including the Franklin Park Coalition, Emerald Necklace Conservancy, and the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy. YouthBuild Boston also engages civic-minded volunteer groups in many of these projects, gaining support for our work and exposing students and volunteers to new perspectives.
