Last month, at the 56th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast, YouthBuild Boston was honored to receive the Drum Major Award. Our staff members Darius Smith and Neil Daniel accepted the award on behalf of our organization, presented by Nikole Hannah-Jones, Ayanna Pressley, Rev. Dr. Jay Williams, and Rev. Kevin Vetiac.

This recognition celebrates leadership rooted in service and belongs to our entire community, our staff, partners, supporters, and the students and young people who inspire us every day.

We are deeply grateful for this honor and remain committed to promoting opportunity, leadership, and service within our communities.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast Committee is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering communities while honoring Dr. King’s legacy through scholarships, recognition, and collective action toward equity and inclusion.
